Kartar 4036 2WD Price October 2026

The Kartar 4036 is the 40 HP starting point in the manufacturer’s Indian tractor range. Its Kirloskar 3R 810 engine is a 2430 cc, 3-cylinder unit rated at 2200 rpm. The purchasing question is whether its straightforward single-clutch layout suits your work, rather than whether its lift figure looks unusually large for its power class.

A simple transmission with a clear limitation

The partial constant-mesh gearbox has 8 forward and 2 reverse gears. The published PTO is a 540-rpm, six-spline output. A single clutch is not evidence of independent PTO control: ask the dealer to demonstrate how travel and PTO stop on the delivered tractor. This matters when a stationary or rotating attachment must keep running while the tractor pauses. Do not assume the dual-clutch behaviour of a larger Kartar model.

Check the complete implement combination

The brochure specifies Category II ADDC linkage and a maximum lift of 1800 kgf. That is a hydraulic rating, not permission to carry an implement of the same mass at any distance behind the axle. Obtain the implement’s filled weight, hitch category and power requirement, then have the supplier check the complete combination. An acceptable lift demonstration does not prove enough PTO power in hard soil.

The listed mass is 1955 kg, wheelbase 2015 mm and fuel capacity 55 litres. These help plan storage, transport and refuelling, but do not establish daily acreage or diesel consumption. Measure access with the chosen attachment fitted. The steering listing includes mechanical and power alternatives, so the quotation must identify which is supplied.

When to compare another model

For ordinary cultivation and sowing, start with your existing implement requirements and a representative demonstration. If repeated PTO engagement or reversing is central to the job, compare a dual-clutch or shuttle model before paying for accessories on this one.
