VST VT-180D HS/JAI 4WD Price October 2026

The VT-180D HS/JAI 4WD belongs to VST’s Indian Classic range. Its linked brochure identifies a three-cylinder K3C diesel, 900.51 cc displacement and 18.5 HP at 2700 rpm. The catalogue rounds displacement to 900 cc. This card follows the HS/JAI four-wheel-drive machine; a similarly named two-wheel-drive model and the newer FENTM family should not be treated as the same purchase.

Start with the supplied rotary combination

The brochure describes side-drive rotary equipment and gives separate 900 GTRJ and 1100 GTRJ entries. Their stated tilling widths are 900 mm and 1100 mm respectively. These are named combinations, not permission to fit any rotavator of similar width. Ask what attachment, drive components and guards are actually included, and have the dealer confirm the complete coupling and operating instructions.

For a buyer moving from a walk-behind machine, the useful comparison is the whole job: entrance, turning space, attachment changes and service support. Our mini tractor versus power tiller guide frames that choice. Arrange a demonstration of your necessary work rather than assuming that a seated machine will complete every task faster.

Read the brake and PTO descriptions literally

The specification gives sliding-mesh transmission with 6 forward and 2 reverse gears. It describes internal expanding shoe brakes with a parking brake; do not copy an oil-immersed-brake claim from another VST model. The PTO line reads 540 and 884 at 2340 rpm. Ask the supplier to explain the shaft and engine-speed relationship using this machine’s manual; 884 is not a label for 540E or universal implement compatibility.

Clearance, ballast and lift are different questions

The brochure lists 1105 mm width, 1420 mm wheelbase and 199 mm ground clearance. Its 840 kg weight includes standard ballast, so it cannot be compared directly with an unballasted weight quoted for another tractor. Measure the delivered machine with the actual attachment before deciding whether it fits a garden or plantation route.

Automatic draft and depth control is documented, but this linked sheet does not give a clear hydraulic lift-capacity number. That omission is not a zero rating. Obtain a written rating and approval for the loaded attachment. A trailer gross-weight entry elsewhere in a brochure cannot fill in a missing hydraulic specification.

Price and availability need a fresh quotation

Checked on 13 October 2026, TractorJunction’s HS/JAI page states an indicative ₹2.98–3.35 lakh ex-showroom range for India, without a specific district. However, it also marks the listing inactive and shows a different amount in its calculator. Treat that range as an advertised reference requiring reconfirmation, not proof of current stock or a binding price. Confirm the exact HS/JAI configuration, manufacture date, included rotary and separate on-road charges with the dealer.

Sources and delivery checks

The VST India catalogue and its linked model brochure were checked on 13 October 2026. Specifications can change; obtain the actual unit’s equipment sheet, operator manual, warranty and service schedule. Ask the district dealer about filters, brake parts and implement support before paying. This is a source-based buying guide, not an owner review or measured fuel-economy test.

Our verdict: VST VT-180D HS/JAI 4WD

Verdict by the Aglist editorial desk

Consider the HS/JAI as a complete tractor-and-rotary package. Confirm current supply and documented attachment limits before comparing it with a power tiller or a newer compact.
