Mahindra OJA 2130 4WD is identified as a 30 HP model in the manufacturer's Indian FAQ. The current specification lists a three-cylinder engine rated at 3,000 rpm. That is an engine rating point, not the speed you should automatically use for every field operation or a measurement of fuel consumption.

Is this the useful step up from a smaller compact?

Start with the job that the cheaper candidate cannot complete satisfactorily. For a vegetable grower this might be a specific powered implement at its required working speed; for an orchard operator it might be a more demanding attachment package. Have the supplier identify the required engine or PTO power explicitly instead of treating every implement HP label as the same thing.

Keep the access and load checks separate from power. The 2130's engine rating does not prove that it fits the same route as a smaller OJA or lifts a heavier attachment. Measure the proposed machine with its tyres and implement, and obtain approval of the hitch, loaded mass and ballast. A narrow route can remain the limiting factor even when the engine has more capacity.

Specify the gearbox rather than just the model badge

Mahindra's web table lists 12F + 12R. Its linked Indian Compact leaflet lists 8F + 4R, 8F + 8R and 12F + 12R possibilities for the 2130. The listed rear-tyre options also differ. A general model price does not establish which combination will arrive at your farm.

Ask the dealer to show the exact working-speed chart, including any optional creeper arrangement. For slow operations, assess the required ground speed together with the implement's PTO setting; slowing the engine to achieve travel speed is not a substitute for the approved gearing and PTO procedure. Confirm the delivered controls and operating instructions before use.

Compare actual costs and support

A useful quote comparison names the gearbox, tyre size, technology package and implement on both offers. Separate a benefit you will use each week from a feature that merely looks attractive in a demonstration. Ask who can diagnose the electronic controls locally and what service visits cost outside the standard coverage. No measured fuel economy or guaranteed acreage output is claimed here.
