The John Deere 5039D PowerPro is a 41 HP, 2WD choice where the clutch and PTO package deserve as much attention as the engine rating. Its headline description promotes dual clutch and dual PTO, but the detailed table retains options. A useful quotation must name the fitted equipment rather than simply say PowerPro.

Put the clutch and economy PTO on the order

The specification lists single/dual clutch and an 8F + 4R collar-shift gearbox. Standard PTO is 540 at 2100 engine rpm; 540 at 1600 engine rpm is optional alongside standard PTO. The latter is not a second shaft speed of 1600 rpm. Ask whether both modes are included and which loads the manual permits in the lower-engine-speed mode.

For a powered implement that repeatedly stops and starts travel, compare the demonstrated dual-clutch sequence with a single-clutch candidate. For sustained draft work, compare useful forward ratios and actual traction instead. Optional economy PTO is not evidence of a particular diesel saving, and the engine’s 41 HP cannot be treated as measured PTO output.

Compare the complete field package

The three-cylinder engine is rated at 2100 rpm. The model has power steering, oil-immersed disc brakes and a listed 1600 kgf lift. Published weight and wheelbase are 1760 kg and 1970 mm. These do not establish safe transport of every implement: check linkage, loaded axle limits and actual tyre equipment with the supplier.

TractorJunction lists an indicative ₹6.53–₹7.07 lakh ex-showroom range, checked on 21 October 2026. It is an India-wide reference without a district or confirmed clutch/PTO package. Obtain separate prices for the exact options; do not compare a base quote against an option-equipped demonstration tractor.

John Deere 5039D PowerPro 2WD — Frequently asked questions

Is dual clutch standard on every 5039D quotation?

Do not assume that. The manufacturer table says single/dual; get the chosen clutch written on the order.

Does the optional mode run the PTO at 1600 rpm?

No. It produces 540 PTO rpm at 1600 engine rpm, alongside the standard 540 at 2100 engine rpm.

Can engine HP be used as PTO HP?

No. Engine output and shaft output are different measurement points. Obtain the applicable PTO rating for the supplied machine.
